Happy Monday ~ A Memory of Mom ~ A New Kit ~ and a Freebie

Well, here we are again. Another Monday in the beautiful month of December. What a blessing it is to be able to enjoy being alive.

I know I've slacked on talking about memories of my mom but ya know, sometimes we just have to do this. For me, it isn't that I don't want to write about her, it's rather, it's hard to write sometimes. I miss her each and every day of my life and it's just a little bit harder around the holidays. So on with another memory. Mom, I love you.

This isn't a holiday memory, but rather a different type of special memory. The year was 1988 and I was trying like crazy to save my pregnancy. I was pregnant with my son at the time. My pregnancy was a difficult one, to say the least. I started labor when I was 5 months pregnant. That lil guy just wanted out to see the world. I spent the next few months in and out of the hospital, hooked up to IV's, machines, medications and pretty much doing what the doctors and nurses told me to at the time. My mom was a nurse at the hospital, so I was a little more apt to get things that I wanted.

Any way, on September 11, 1988 in the early morning hours, my water broke. I was still about 6 - 61/2 weeks from my due date. All the medications in the world couldn't stop my son from joining the world. My mom was a big supporter of mine both in the hospital and out of it. She was there in the room with me the whole time. She held my hand, she talked to me, she helped out when needed and most importantly, she got to hold my son before I did. She was so tickled pink that she let it always be known that she got to hold my son before I did. I was never upset about that for a few reasons, but the most important is that she was able to hold him before anyone else, well except the doctors, nurses and specialists.

On to the New Kit. In fact, there are 2 new kits to tell you about. The first one is called Delicate Gracefulness. It was designed by a lady name Karen of scrapN2Nspire. I oogled over this one for  few days, before jumping in to make the layouts. It's gorgeous and you can make so many different layouts with this one. Here are the previews, the layouts, the link to her store AND a freebie, so on with the show.
